Hi dude.

If you're still wanting to start the bass, I'd say to start with an Ibanez. The good quality and reasonably priced. Yamaha basses are also good. DO NOT BUY A SQUIER! Seriously, just don't do it. I personally love Fender Jazz basses but to be honest, they're over-priced.
