Is James Wells still around? Any news would be welcomed. I met him in Chicago some years ago. Thanks, MRBKP

We recorded two brand new songs with Earlene last year for the "Northern Soul 2007" album.
You can watch both videos here on YouTube. "Water Under The Bridge", and "Ashes To Ashes". |

The record you're talking about is "Run Run Run" by Jim Gilstrap, on Bell Records, one of the rarest records I have ever discovered.
I sold it in 2003. |

Hi Ian, Just happened upon your site and was shocked beyond belief to see the late great Emmanuel Lasky singing one of his many classic renderings. Thanks so very much. Being from Cleveland, Ohio originally, I had the opportunity to see Emmanuel Lasky in person at the legendary "Liberty Theatre" where many of the featured Northern Soul and future Motown greats performed regularly. I can't tell you how priceless it is to sit here singing and clapping to artists and their songs that I thought were lost and forgotten. Again, hats off to you and the good people of England who have preserved the memory and music of some the best artists the world never heard.
(p.s. I couldn't help but notice the updated arrangement on the Lasky video. Is that available?) Thanks Again Ian. |
