PS:
A chap called Irenaeus who was a theologian and church leader around the second Century AD. A very devout and committed follower of Christ wrote "Against All Heresies" in which he thoroughly investigated the multitude of heretical movements and beliefs that arose shortly after Christ. He did this by studying them and with logic and reason totally pulled them apart and showed up their grave errors. So please understand that following Christ does not stop us examining heretical thoughts and analysing their many errors. |

Sounds good but there are traps to your way of thinking. Surely you only THINK you know what is true. For instance there's no basis on which to reject Genisis as impossible, except YOU have decided it is impossible. It is possible, it is just that YOU reject it as possible. What you consider undeniable is what you believe is undeniable. Therefore your list is what you are prepared to believe, not what is true. The definition of a God is one who has power and authority to impose absolutes. Agnosticism, is naturally comfortable for those who do not wish to obey or be controlled by a higher authority. Trouble is 'feels good' is no basis for discerning truth. We exist in a REALITY we do not have power to change. The answer lies in understanding the ACTUAL reality in which we exist, not the reality we THINK exists. |

My mind is pretty much open, but I put up a "bullshit" filter. Subjects have to be undeniable to make it to my list of beliefs. The thought of a deity is possible; however, the book of genesis is not.
Why I am agnostic: no one can possibly, unequivocally know for sure that any of these metaphysical claims are true. Thus: metaphysical. And for most theists to just accept the existence of a god, is lazy. But you seem to be the exception, based on your video content. However, the universal predisposition to being a theist lends itself to absolutisms. Where as being agnostic and neutral on the existence of a deity, allows for exploration into, otherwise, heretic beliefs. |

Hi cbdoobie,
I would like to have left comments open but sadly there are certain people who simply abuse the privilege and end up burying any meaningful discussion in an avalanche of meaningless rhetoric. This way at least there was a number of weeks of discussion that everybody can at least have a chance of browsing through rather than thousands of repetitious and frequently meaningless or vitriolic comments. But STAYING an Agnostic is simply closing ones eyes. There is no point being open minded for no other reason than being "open minded". Being open minded allows you to follow the actual evidence that exists. But unless you actually GO where the evidence leads there is not much point in bothering to look at it. If the evidence clearly leads to a conclusion but you do not follow it to that conclusion then are you not STILL in as much error as if you jumped to the wrong conclusion. Isn't it about REACHING the right conclusion, not floundering around in NO conclusion?? Regards. |

Awe man! You turned off comments for your atheism video. I am actually in support of your view of atheists. In the sense that I happen to think that the majority of self-titled atheists, hold the same exact absolutes as a theist. But I'm for changing EVERYONE'S minds to the logical neutrality of agnosticism...on EVERYTHING! Science has BEEN doing this(agnosticism) since the advent of the scientific method. Although I'm not a scientist, for me, being agnostic is the only REASONABLE method of belief.

Hi scottosaurusRAWR,
I have had these discussions off and on with Atheists over several decades now and the arguments that are put forward are the same erroneous ones again and again, often almost verbatim . I am VERY familiar with the thoughts of Atheism. HOWEVER I note that nearly every Atheist I have had discussions with appears to have little knowledge of what the Bible actually says. They dreadfully misquote and misrepresent it. They point to the OT without seeming to understand Jesus is the Lord of a NEW agreement / testament between Man and the Lord. Even then they seem to have little understanding of the OT and the FULL Law of Moses. But generalisations such as you have made have been par for the course with nearly every Atheist I have ever had discussions with. It seems to be part of a pattern of avoiding reasoned, logical and FACTUAL discussion that I have seen repeated over many years. |

this person is ignorant of issues that he preaches against, and im afraid to say that im almost positive he is lying in at least one of his videos. its unfortunate that so much bandwidth is being wasted by people propagating information that is either incorrect or blatantly deceitful.
to the user, please learn about atheism before you condemn it. nearly all of us have granted you and your religion that courtesy. |

No problem. People need to realize that logic and faith can and have worked in harmony for thousands of years and that there's no need to destroy either one. Peace and God bless.

Because you have not found something does not mean it does not exist. That is something you can never really determine until you have looked in EVERY place that EXISTS (which includes those places you do not yet KNOW exist.). But how can we EVER KNOW what, or how much, it is we do not yet know. For we do not yet have knowledge of it. The best we can do is make a statement of BELIEF, a statement of "faith" based on WHO we have chosen to believe and trust, EVEN if it is only believing and trusting in yourself and your own ability or "intellect" to somehow just "know" things. As for me and my household we will believe and trust in the Lord through Christ Jesus. |
