Buff paint donated by ICI from the Glidden Store at 90 Portand Street, Toronto. Thank you very much Greg Cuthbert -- and all the great people at the Argos Foundation, and BMX man Mike Heaton.. for making the 2007 Grey Cup Youth Engagement BMX Bike Park Project work... The paint used to prime here was left over from the donation from ICI for that event.. Sure would like some more donors and sponsors to come on board for future legal graffiti events like this.. They are very popular with the kids, and tourists to Toronto, and most property owners are very supportive as well..
Thank you to the paint sprayer repair guy.. you know who you are !.. we will need you yet again !..

Most of the graffiti writers agree that violence is a problem in our society...most would also say that cops and politicians don't understand graffiti. The police officer who recorded this video has been invited to several 'graffiti solutions' meetings.. but there always seems to be a lack of invitiations to these meetings extended to respected graffiti writers.. like SEAZ....who are the KEY to solutions..

The Six String Nation Guitar http://sixstringnation.com mural was planned for the rear of the Legendary Horseshoe Tavern on Queen St W at Spadina Ave, Toronto, ON Canada.
Funding for the mural was organized by Jowi Taylor and Community CAVE from the Toronto Creative Arts Festival http://Luminato.com
There was an issue in the graffiti culture over two longstanding 'Twistoe' tags on the rear of the Horseshoe. Twistoe is a legendary graffiti writer from San Francisco. The organizers from Communities Advancing Valued Environments (C.A.V.E.) http://CommunityCAVE.com tried to contact Twistoe without success to include him in the project. In the end, the legal graffiti artists Bubblz and Phade decided to leave the Twistoe tags and incorporate them into the Six String NAtion Guitar mural project.. however.... at the last minute..
The landlord of the building refused permission for the mural.. so the project moved to Lee's Palace, 529 Bloor St W... see many other videos about this project on this YouTube channel..
This video shows legal graffiti artists Bubblz and Phade being interviewed by Toronto Sun Columnist Mike Strobel on the topic of making a distinction between vandalsim graffiti and legal graffiti art.
Video provided to the Toronto Crime Stoppers Community Youth Officer courtesy of media partner Toronto Sun. The original story was published in May, 2008 and can be found online at http://torontosun.com
