A Message To My Younger Self | World Cancer Day
Cancer may change you, but it doesn’t need to define you. If you could send a message to your younger self, what would you say? @NellieRobert and @AdilTheMalik have partnered up with us this World Cancer Day to send a message to their younger selves. They reflect on the challenges they faced and the strength they found. Whether you’re going through cancer yourself or supporting someone who is, their words offer reassurance, honesty, and hope.
Join us for our brand new YouTube series, Cancer: Explained, hosted by the brilliant Dr Ranj! This series is a new format for us in delivering crucial cancer information to those who need it. Whether you or a loved one has recently been diagnosed or whether you’re interested in the science and explanation behind cancer care – these videos may be for you.
Thousands of younger people with cancer in the UK are worried about how their diagnosis might affect their ability to find a new partner. Everyone deserves love and companionship, and that’s why we’re opening conversations about the impact a cancer diagnosis can have on dating and relationships. Talking about real-life experiences of relationships and intimacy after a cancer diagnosis can help to break down the taboos. We want everyone to feel empowered to discuss issues around relationships, dating and cancer.

Cancer can impact a person’s life in many ways; their relationships, their bodies, how they are feeling and more. It can touch every part of what makes someone who they are. And we know that for many, sex and intimacy following a cancer diagnosis is a huge concern. We want to help encourage and support more people to feel confident to have open conversations about sex and cancer. To do this, we have partnered with sexual wellness brand, Lovehoney. The partnership will shine a light on the impact cancer can have on people’s sexual wellbeing and encourage those who are worried to access the support available. As part of the partnership, over the coming weeks we will be sharing unique stories from people on how their cancer diagnosis impacted their sexual wellbeing.
