I also scoff at the idea that someone can teach the GOP or Dem candidate a lesson by voting for the a third party candidate. Seriously one of those two is going to win, not the third party and no one is going to care that you voted for the third party candidate.

Im sorry if this sounds harsh but its just my own observation.

Well in my opinion none of the third party candidates are all that impressive to begin with (at least not to me), but even if they were America has a two party system. Basically that means that it is virtually impossible for a third party candidate to win a Presidential election (sometimes one or two may win a Congressional election and they fare a bit better in local elections though).

In other words there are really only two options, if you arent going to vote for the Republican or Democrat in a Presidential election, you arent much better off than if you did not vote. Sure that may not seem very fair but consider the alternative. In many countries where you have multiple parties, governments tend to be weak and collapse all too often, this hurts the countries stability.

Why do people like yourself vote for a lesser of two evils when there is an obvious third good?
