A Republican majority in both houses of the state legislature would give the GOP the ability to draw fair congressional district lines, ending Democrat gerrymandering and giving the GOP a real shot at shifting the partisan split of the state's congressional delegation from 4 Republicans and 5 Democrats to 6 Republicans and 3 Democrats.

Currently, Republicans and Democrats are at parity in the state Senate, 16-16, with one independent. Democrats hold 53 of the 99 state House seats - the GOP needs to gain just four seats to hold the Speaker's gavel for the first time in decades.
