The end of a good day.......
Fri 05 Sep 2008 22:38:11 PDT
So, all the boxes ticked, mission accomplished, GREAT FUN, but as ever the HARDLINE MILITANT LEFT.... weren't quite dedicated enough to stay outside the count for 35 minutes. Just as well I don't think we could have stood another vicious salvo of original chanting.....

Yes and it is indeed something to be proud of for some of the english population to have Danish Viking blood in your veins. The Vikings were great sailors, craftsmen, farmers, hunters and most of all great WARRIORS that traded, plundered and conquered. For this reason they were able to maintain great power and influence over the european continent and western Russia. Yes Sven Forkbeard is actually a correct translation of the Danish Sven Tveskæg. As (Skæg = beard) and Tve is a modification of the Danish word for 2 (two). Meaning 2 beards as you get when you part a beard in the middle into 2. More than 500 english common words are a modified version of Danish words, which can be traced back to Viking age and the Danish Danelagen in mainly eastern England. This makes it easy for Danish to learn English and likewise for English to learn Danish, though the prenounciation can cause some problems.

Sven Tveskæg (Sven Double edged beard) the Danish Viking King that conquered Norway and England 1013 forging a great Northsea empire, which his son Knud den Store (Knud the Great) came to lead. The Kingdom of Knud den Store consistet of Denmark, Norway 1/2 of Sweden, Northern Germany, England, Normandie, Iceland and Greenland. The scottish King also volunteerly gave his throne to Knud the Great to save Scotland from an invasion. The Scottish King said: "Knud you are also the rightful King of Scotland as well as King of Denmark and England!" When Sven Tveskæg invaded England, London was the last city to defeat, they held out the longest, they even burned down London Bridge to try and stop the invetible invasion of the city. As they burned their own bridge the English sang: "London Bridge is falling down, falling down, FALLING DOWN!" Obey your King!
