Name: Brian
i am a conservatory trained classical pianist with a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance. i teach as well. i also play or played violin, percussion and guitar. i am a voracious listener of all kinds of music and am always in search of that rare treasure of a neglected score. the last few years of my life i have been battling epilepsy and i am trying to get my performing career back on track. though its hard i have the support of my wonderful wife and family. i love to talk about music of any kind and am always open to new ideas.

exactly. when i play it i silently hold the low A i want to capture. i then hold the sostenuto pedal and let it capture that A. because the opening revolves around that A pedal point. i then began. there is a ton of other stuff i want to tell you so i will send you a message. incidentally anyone who has played grainger's music knows that he was a genius at pedal effects. almost every one of his pieces demands using the sostenuto pedal. AND i love his music and have performed alot of it.
that would be great filippeo. i heard several people mention it but i can't find it. ty.
i am dying to hear gould play this but i cant find out. help me out pianopera.
holy mother of god.....i dont know what to say. i am overwhelmed. it's just..........beyond belief.

hey Brian... thanks for he comments about my videos. you know what i don't even play drums. I'd like to. I used to play the trumpet back in middle school but i quit because it was too hard. I'm a very good artists though. Digital painter to be specific. I think men like Art Tatum, Buddy Rich, Charlie Parker Louis Armstrong... etc.. came on this earth to show us mortal human beings what it is we could be capable of doing artistically/musically.

Thanks Brian! I'm so glad SOMEONE listens to them. I think the dark, plain screens which I think the MOST appropriate for musical counterparts turn people off from even one listen-through. It shocked me that the best one, the Tarantella, got the worst rating on here. C'est la Youtube, ne vrais pas!?

What other combinations... of etudes you mean? Well, I outlined a set of "etudes d'execution transcriptiondente" with the following styles written-in:

-Shubert-Rachmaninoff ("Wohin" paraphrase)
-Clementi-Satie (in the style of the "sonatine beaurocratique")
-Paganini-Liszt ("La Campanella")
-Bach-Busoni
-Chopin-Godowsky

...but they proved problematic so 3 & 4 were dropped, and the series loosely re-hashed for other stuff. Now & then I still play the Clementi-Satie one though, even "Wohin" which I wrote years ago. If I find the boredom I'll midi-ize and post them. It takes forever though (c. a month, like a Nancarrow roll...)...
