Until 18th century, marriage right after puberty, was the necessity for survival and the norm for vast majority of all societies including Church/US/Europe.
Puberty ranges from age 7 to 13, and age 9 was common even in 16th century europe, which is acceptable because those reaching puberty were psychologically mature adults. Maturity started to delay in 1750s.
AISHA WAS A PSYCHOLOGICALLY & PHYSICALLY MATURE, CONSENTING ADULT: these Islamic requirements apply at a later age in modern times.
