I'm a professional musician and music teacher living in London, UK. I play various instruments for a diverse range of artists, from rock and metal bands to a 50 piece contemporary choir and everything in between. I'm available for session work and am always interested in playing with, recording with and producing for new artists - if you need me, just get in touch on email.
I also teach at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London, as well as Thames Valley University and the University of Chichester. I also teach privately from my home.

These lessons are totally free, no hidden charges or credit card numbers needed.
There are pdfs of these lessons available to download once you register on my website, also for free.

I'm posting a series of lessons here for bass players, covering techniques, scales and arpeggios and songs you'd like to learn. If I can make time I might do some lessons on other instruments too.

If you enjoy the videos and you have learned something valuable then go out and do something nice for someone else. Pass the good vibes on...

If you would like to, you can make a voluntary donation at my website. It's hard for me to find time for making new free videos and also pay the rent, so the more contributions I receive the more often I can post stuff... :-)

The Institute, Kilburn, Wed 11th June 7 - 9 On wednesday evening (11th June) we'll be playing at The Institute in Kilburn. This may seem like a weird gig, but check the logic.... London Circuit gig: Costs £5 - 8 for entry The average band plays for around 20 mins The sound is shocking The other bands are often dreadful. Drink is well expensive. Out Institute gig: Free admission 45 minute set The sound will be sweet. We have support from a great student rock band 'Visions' The music will be done by 9pm... pop round the corner to : The Kilburn, The North London Tavern or the Powers bar and get sozzled at a reasonable price...

	x00004638 (1 month ago) hey dave, nice one for the lessons! I've only started to play bass the last couple of weeks and the with or without you lesson really gave me some confidence! I was wondering if you can stick up any pixies bass lines. I've started to mess around with the intros to where is my mind, gigantic & hey. I just cant seem to get the next parts of the songs, particulary where is my mind riff 2 as I cant really hear it! Anyway if you get time to do some pixies tunes I'd be grateful. I love his lessons and hope he can keep them coming! I for one will buy the DVD when he puts it up for sale! I will also be making a nice donation in the near future for all the great free lessons he has posted on his site! Keep it up they're great, and helping so many new musicians realize they can learn to play a wonderful instrument no matter what age you are.
