Jane Eyre 1973, Mason
You mean when he takes Jane's hand and they run into the garden? Yes, it really is. To me it is like he is running away from all troubles together with her. (2 hours ago)

jane eyre after the fire scene
I think it depends on what meaning one put into the words "quiet" and "shy". Jane might have been quiet and shy up to some point in time, but I come to think of a passage in Ch XVI where Jane tells us, the Readers: "I knew the pleasure of vexing and soothing him by turns; it was one I chiefly delighted in, and a sure instinct always prevented me from going too far; beyond the verge of provocation I never ventured; on the extreme brink I liked well to try my skill." Jane Eyre 1983 Episode 5 (Part 1/3)
No, you did not. ;-) But I ought to have guessed after watching the "asking for a leave"-scene. The glance in his eyes when he (in the shape of Michael Jayston) says: "If one shook hands... No, that would not content me either." It is speaking for itself. (2 days ago)

Jane Eyre 1983 Episode 8 (Part 1/3)
"... remember with what judgment ye judge ye shall be judged!" (Ch XXVI) If you judge someone, you might be judged in the same way (when standing before God). I cannot write it in Norwegian (although I speak "svorsk" ;-) ) but the Swedish phrase is "kom ihåg att såsom I dömen skolen I ock varda dömda", which is in modern language: "kom ihåg att som ni dömer ska även ni bli dömda". Hope it helps. (4 days ago)

Jane Eyre 1983 Episode 5 (Part 1/3)
Maybe he was... ;-) Remember what he says to Jane (in Ch XV): "There! I am up now; but at your peril you fetch a candle yet: wait two minutes till I get into some dry garments, if any dry there be -- yes, here is my dressing-gown. Now run!" But I suppose the censor at the time would not let them show that. (4 days ago)

Historical dancing on stage, on film and from other events. Some are added because they are really good performances, others I have included because I think it is interesting to compare different interpretations.

My second instrument is the four-stringed prima domra (which I play only for fun, BTW). Here is a collection of Russian (folk)music or music played on Russian instruments, that I either think is very good or brings back memories from the tours.

Eva!

oooh you gave me another great tip for video! Spring (Intermezzo, Ingrid Bergman) - what a wonderful scene! I must see the film. Have you watched it? How do you like it?

Hi,

You seem really cool and I love the fact you really know about Jane Eyre, one of my fave books and heroines of all time. Thanks for your replies on the JE 2006, was it?, proposal scene page.

Have a great day!
