My videos will mainly be about rational and sceptical thinking.

I'm always up for debate and I will not delete comments or video replies - except in the case of spam, threats or other needless abuse.

I won't delete comments or videos just because I disagree with them. This is a place for debate. It is not, however, a place for proselytising by threat.

Please refrain from threatening myself (or anyone watching this channel) with your particular brand of eternal torture. It makes you and your religion look mean, ignorant and small minded. Besides, it doesn't work if we happen not to believe your holy book.

Thank you.

I think it's important in this day and age to have a set of skills which, unfortunately, aren't taught in most schools.

Rational and critical thinking are vital to finding your way through a world of advertising, politicians, lawyers, high-interest loans, snake oil peddlers, pseudo-science and superstitions.

At stake is your money, your health, your country, your freedom, your education and even your immortal soul!

OK. I lied about that last one.

So what about me?

I try to be a rational thinker. It's not easy - rational thionking doesn't come naturally to humans, despite what some may think.

I am a non-theist. That means I don't have any belief in a god or gods. I don't actively believe that gods don't exist, but with no supporting evidence I simply file 'gods' under the same part of my brain as unicorns and the Sasquatch.

How is this different to atheism you ask? Well, it's not really. It's just that if I have to explain what the word means to people, they're less likely to start trying to tell me what I believe.

So let's review that shall we? Non-theism is a LACK of belief. It's not a belief system. It is not a system of knowledge or a philosophy. If you have a belief in a god, fine. I don't.

Is that OK?

So. Not *actively* believing that gods don't exist technically makes me agnostic, but that's word you have to be careful with.

Agnostic means 'without knowledge,' which we will all be until someone can produce some hard evidence for these elusive 'god' characters.

I'm also what I like to call a non-dogmatist. I don't subscribe to fixed and unchangeable systems of knowledge - I will readily alter my worldview if presented with the appropriate evidence.

This means I have a soft spot for the scientific method, which neatly embodies the concept of nondogmatism as I have described it.

Have a wander through some of my favourites and check out my videos. I hope you enjoy them.
