There are two significant factors which permit religion to exist within our culture: firstly, there is the indoctrination of children by religious parents and, secondly, there is the apathy of the majority. The latter factor makes it difficult for many concerned individuals to continue an energetic fight against religion, particularly when the religion in question is Islam. Accusations of racism, intolerance or even xenophobia can cut deeply and can dissuade even the most staunch supporter of rationality from continuing their efforts to establish a rational and balanced stand against primitive and regressive superstitions and religious practices.
